The Overcomers

MAY 14

MATTHEW 6:3_let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth.

The world operates on a right handed system. That’s just how it is. When a table is set the glass goes at the top right of the plate. If you are a lefty you move it or get used to reaching over.

When lefty children begin kindergarten they may become more aware of how right-handed the classroom is set up. They adjust.

Left-handers learn to be overcomers.

The Bible gives history lessons of some fascinating lefties. After eighteen years of being oppressed by the Moabites, God raised up left-handed Ehud, to deliver Israel. Check out Judges 3:15-30.

Then there is Judges 20:16 (KJV), “Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.”

There were the ambidextrous men among David’s mighty men: I Chronicles 12:2 (KJV), “They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul’s brethern of Benjamin.”

There is a reason for this lefty lesson. Don’t miss tomorrow!

PRAYER

Mighty Warrior, I want to be an overcomer in the world. I want to walk and live in the radical teachings of Jesus. In the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

Christ overcame the world—He will help me!

  1. Being a south paw I have studied left handers. We are usually very intelligent, compassionate, creative and fierce warriors when angered, which is hard to do because we are patient. This is true in my life and every leftie I have met
